Dr Niroomand, a native of Tehran, came to the United States in 1978 and completed his high school and college education in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from Georgia State University with the highest honour (GPA 4.0/4.0) and was elected to “Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities”.

He obtained his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia where he was a member of the medical student honour society (AOA) and was the recipient of the Dean’s Research Fellowship. Persian Dermatologist Dallas

After medical school, Dr Niroomand moved to Texas and did his internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He then moved to New York City for his residency in dermatology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

He was honoured by being chosen as chief resident in his final year. After becoming certified by the American Board of Dermatology in 1992, Dr Niroomand joined the faculty at New York University where he was chosen as the Teacher of the Year. He then returned to the warmth of Texas where he has practised dermatology since 1995.

Three years later in 1998, Dr Niroomand received another teaching award from the dermatology residents at the Southwestern Medical Center. He has been an attending at the Baylor University Medical Center and Parkland Hospital contributing to the care of the uninsured in Dallas.

In addition to patient care and teaching, Dr Niroomand has contributed to several scientific and medical publications. Dr Niroomand has special interests in both medical and cosmetic dermatology. Areas of expertise in medical dermatology include all aspects of infectious diseases as they pertain to the skin.

For example, Dr Niroomand has developed a novel treatment for warts regardless of where they are on the body. In the cosmetic arena, Dr Niroomand prefers the use of long-lasting fillers, especially PMMA (ArteFill) addressing facial lipoatrophy, wrinkles, and scars.
