He is also the founder and Executive Director of the Center for East-West Understanding, a non-profit organization established to prevent ‘Clash of Civilizations’ between the Eastern and Western cultures by working to develop a greater understanding of their respective worldviews. Prior to immigrating to the United States in 1980, served as Management Analyst at the Oils Service Company (OSCO) of Iran, a consortium of oil firms including Exxon, Mobil, and Shell. He has written about Iran for 30 years. He is the author of Iran & America: Rekindling A Love Lost.

Other book projects that he has been working on include: Democracy Seekers of Iran: A Young Generation Rises Against An Archaeic Theocracy All My Wives: A Report on Temporary Marriage in Shi’i Islam Sex, the Islamic Way (translation) He has also penned a screenplay entitled Escape from Iran. Some of his past activities in relation to journalism and writing include: Editor, English Section, Hamsayegan: a bilingual, monthly newspaper Editorial Board member, Siliconiran.com, an English publication Writer/Advisor, Touch Magazine, a UNICEF recognized bilingual children’s magazine Writer/Advisor, Negah Magazine published in southern California Writer, Iran Today, a bilingual publication distributed nationwide Translator, Christina, a 675-page novel Translator, Chashmandaz, a publication of the International Judea Foundation Contributing writer to numerous publications. He is the first Iranian-American in history to run for Governor in California. Also active in local politics, he was appointed by the Governor to the State of California’s Joint Venture Advisory Board and served on the City of San Diego’s Small Business Advisory Board for six years. Appointed by the Mayor, he also served as the vice-chair of the International Affairs Board of the City of San Diego and was Chairman of the Cultural and Economic Interchange Committee.

Most recently, he was invited to serve on the County of San Diego District Attorney’s Advisory Board. Throughout the last three decades, he has also had numerous appearances on NBC, MSNBC, Fox, ABC, Voice of America, BBC, Radio South Africa and various television channels broadcasting to Iran.

He has also been interviewed/mentioned in The Washington Post, USA Today, Newsweek, the Los the Angeles Times as well as the German publication, Die Welt. Badi Badiozamani holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and Modern Languages, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Ph.D. in Political Science. He is a member of PEN USA and American Translators Association.
